Last Call from Earth   –Stage I, Biological Survival (Sci-Fi) by Albert Herrera

Pitch

Due to a supernova explosion that hits the Earth, humanity faces imminent extinction. We know about the explosion two years in
advance via a warning sent to us by the Rupturians, an advanced alien civilization.  The only way out is via teleportation to planets
in the Andromeda galaxy, using technology handed down to us by the Rupturians.

Technology is not a problem. The issue is that it is impossible to teleport out of Earth all the people in the short time we have left.
Who goes to safety and who stays to die? If the world is coming to an end, what else matters?

To support human survival activities we create the Super Suits Force. A Super Suit deputy, with the help of Rupturian technology,
becomes extremely powerful… but, what would happen if a team of corrupted Super Suits takes control of the Super Suits Force?
What would be the magnitude and impact of their destructive power?

Franchise

Last Call from Earth is a trilogy of human survival after we are hit by the radiation of a supernova:

  • Stage I, Biological Survival, introduces the overall problem of the supernova, and our way out via teleportation to planets
suitable to human life in the Andromeda Galaxy.

  • Stage II, Political Survival, deals with problems of those teleported to the planets in the Andromeda Galaxy, in their
    struggle to restart civilization.

  • Stage III, Spiritual Survival, deals with problems of those that remain on Earth and are affected by the supernova’s
    radiation.

It has potential for other films, games, toys and clothing.

The script

The script is based on the novel Last Call from Earth, but it changes the premises, the structure and the plot.

Notes for investment analysis

Precedents

How well similar films did at the box office.

Similar films:  Knowing, The Day After Tomorrow, Sudden Impact, Star Trek, Iron Man, Indiana Jones.
Box office has been high in all of them.

Last Call from Earth (LcfEarth) is an adventure and a love story in a futuristic sci-fi world, in line with the latest scientific theories
and discoveries. It blends several stylistic elements in a good fit, operating as a serious sci-fi movie, as a fantasy adventure with
book-style action heroes.
The doomsday scenario and "imperiled Earth" subject matter is presented in a credible way, with realistic social implications.

Buyers

It appeals to men and women, young and old. One of the main characters is an 11 year old boy, with whom kids will identify.
There are male and female Super Suit deputies. The villainess is a woman.

Al and Helen, at the ages of 68 and 63, become 25 and 20 again via “cosmetic teleportation”.  This is a concept that attracts the
young and the old.

The ability to perceive, like watching a movie, events from the past via recordings in the parallel dimension, is of interest to
everybody.

The general themes “advanced technology is beneficial to us, but as it becomes more powerful, we may destroy ourselves with
it”, and “a life-threatening crisis brings the best and worst out of people” have moral implications appealing to all.

Zeitgeist

LcfEarth provides an escape from reality.

The functionality of the current smart phones, connecting to powerful networks, is expanded to the point of becoming the basis for
the Super Suits Force, with an intergalactic reach. This is a concept easily understood and accepted by kids and adults, as it is
within the current trend of functionality expansion of communication devices.

There is an Intergalactic Internet created by an alien civilization through which we gain access to their advanced technology.  This
is a concept within the spirit of our time.

Big Face

Last Call from Earth has strong lead and villain roles that could attract well-known actors and actresses; it could also be made
with new faces, since the story is interesting and very rich in adverts.

As an example of suitable actors:

Lead role                Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman
Strong villainess        Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox

Adverts

LcfEarth is easy to advertise.

PUT YOURSELF IN THE FUTURE
WE ARE NOT ON EARTH ANYMORE

WE JUST RECEIVED THE LAST CALL FROM EARTH
                                                                     OF THOSE THAT   REMAINED THERE…

                                                                       WE COULD’NT SAVE THEM ALL

LcfEarth has many tie-ins:

Super Suits toys, video games, and clothing. Video games where several kids play in teams using cellular phones.  Super Suits
uniforms and gadgets for boys and girls.  Super Suits helmets with integrated cellular phones.  Super Suits belts for carrying
cellular phones. Special glasses and earphones, like the ones used in New Earth, with the earphones connected to cellular
phones.

Cross-advertising potential:  Telecommunication companies:  Verizon, AT&T, etc.

Eberts

LcfEarth has potential to appeal both to the mass audience and to critics. It presents real problems that could come as a result of
advanced technology improperly used.  It has a very original story, with unique and beautiful sceneries.

ROI

LcfEarth has a large income potential and can be made with a reasonable budget, since many of the scenes are digital by
nature.  Even though it is a Space Movie, there are no ships, machinery or sets difficult to obtain or develop. Space scenes can be
made from materials already developed by NASA and other institutions.
